I am offering hour long blacksmithing sessions for people that might want to try their hand at creating something for themselves. This can be a one off session to try blacksmithing, or several over a few weeks to create your own piece. An hours 1 to 1 session will cost £50 or for a couple sharing £80.
For an hours lesson your will need to wear -
Work clothes - Jeans, long sleeved cotton shirt, and woollen jumper
Work boots or leather none synthetic shoes
I supply personal protective equipment for the session which includes leather apron, gloves and safety glasses.
We will start with fire and forge safety, forging a beam hook, to begin with to learn some simple technique’s, drawing out, twisting and using the anvil to shape the steel.
We will gradually progress onto making larger pieces that can be completed over a few weeks.
A parent or adult will need to be present throughout the session for insurance purposes for children under the age of 16. Generally I only teach secondary school age children (over 11) but their are always exceptions.
Payment is taken via bank transfer (Non refundable) at which point we can agree a time to get you or your child into the forge and start blacksmithing.
